Description
This will help your NSX accelerate, using the Japanese gear ratios which are shorter gear ratios compared to North American NSX.
The Japanese NSX-R gear ratios are preferable because they put the engine within the powerband better than the standard US gearing, this is a big improvement when driving your NSX spiritedly or at the track.
North America spec NSXs / European NSXs (1991-1993) – Order one all of the available options from the drop down menu for all the necessary pieces required to convert your Acura USDM gears to the Japanese NSX-R gears.
Shorter gear ratios can provide a number of benefits, including:
- Improved acceleration: Shorter gear ratios can help the car accelerate more quickly by providing more torque to the wheels, allowing the engine to rev at a higher RPM.
- Increased responsiveness: With shorter gear ratios, the car will respond more quickly to accelerator inputs, which can make the car feel more nimble and agile.
- Better performance at high speeds: Shorter gear ratios can also help the car maintain a higher speed in the upper gears, which is beneficial for high-performance driving and track use.
- Better fuel efficiency: Short gear ratios can also help the car maintain lower RPMs at highway speeds, which can improve fuel efficiency.
However, it is important to note that these benefits come at the cost of increased engine wear and higher fuel consumption at lower speeds.
Asian / European Spec NSXs (1994 – 1996) only the Countershaft, Main shaft, Oil Pump Gear, and the Final Drive are required for conversion.
