MITA NSX-R Maintenance Lid Prop Rod

This kit integrates the OEM NSX-R–style engine hood prop rod to enable side-mounted operation of the MITA NSX-R Maintenance Lid. The system replaces the factory center-mounted support configuration used on standard NSX platforms and is engineered specifically around the aluminum mesh construction of the MITA lid.

Validation scope is limited exclusively to the MITA NSX-R Maintenance Lid. Fiberglass and carbon-fiberglass aftermarket engine lids demonstrate inconsistent structural behavior and dimensional drift; consequently, this kit is not approved for deployment on any non-MITA panels. Installation on unsupported lids creates elevated risk of panel deformation, misalignment, and accelerated fatigue failure.

The kit includes a complete bracket architecture designed to manage load paths, ensure chassis-level integration, and provide long-term retention of the OEM prop rod. Vehicles currently configured with the factory center-mounted prop rod must have the original hardware fully removed prior to installation.

Installation Notice:
With the updated bracket architecture included in the MITA Maintenance Installation Kit, no chassis drilling is required. The system utilizes existing mounting interfaces to deliver a fully reversible, zero-modification installation while maintaining OEM-grade structural performance.
