Our forged aluminum lug nuts were designed to match our MITA wheels and are compatible with all the aftermarket wheels with lug holes matching our wheel nuts’ conical design.
Our lug nuts are made of high-grade 7075 Forged aluminum, a light and strong material that also looks great. The MITA logo is embossed on the face of the lug nuts face to give them an extra touch of style. They come in silver, grey, or black.
Conical seat nuts, also called “acorn” or “tapered” lug nuts, are one of the most common seat types used in aftermarket wheels. The cone-shaped lug seat helps to center the wheel in place as it’s being tightened. These are the more common seats used in motorsports because of their practicality.
There are several benefits to using aluminum lug nuts compared to steel lug nuts, such as:
- Lightweight: Aluminum lug nuts are significantly lighter than steel lug nuts, which can help to reduce the unsprung weight of the vehicle and improve its performance and handling.
- Corrosion resistance: Aluminum is highly resistant to corrosion, which can extend the lifespan of the lug nuts and improve their reliability. Steel lug nuts can rust over time, which can make them difficult to remove and damage the threads of the wheel studs.
- Aesthetics: Aluminum lug nuts are available in a variety of colors and finishes, which can be used to enhance the appearance of the vehicle and personalize it.
- Increased safety: Aluminum lug nuts can be designed to be one-time use and have a unique pattern, which can increase safety by deterring theft and ensuring that the lug nuts can only be removed with the proper tool.
- Temperature resistance: Aluminum lug nuts have a higher melting point than steel, which can make them more resistant to heat and prevent them from becoming loose due to thermal expansion.
It’s important to note that aluminum lug nuts are typically more expensive than steel lug nuts. Also, aluminum lug nuts can be more brittle and can be more likely to strip or break if over-tightened. It’s important to use the correct torque specifications when installing aluminum lug nuts and to check them regularly for proper tightness.
