The purpose of replacing the lost motion assembly (LMA) in a Honda / Acura NSX is to improve the performance of the engine’s valve train. For models from the 2000s, Honda redesigned the LMAs to be more robust. Unfortunately, they changed the dimensions of the LMAs slightly so you can’t just drop the later LMAs into earlier engines.
Honda have now designed later-style LMAs for 1991-1999 engines for better initial response and longer longevity.
The revised LMAs are applicable for NSXs between 1991-2005
