Abstract

A faithful reproduction of the original 02R NSX-R arm rest, developed to restore
availability of a discontinued OEM component without compromising the original
design intent. Using reverse engineering and CAD-driven development, MITA has
recreated the original geometry, mounting provisions, and single-door compartment
configuration, then remanufactured the component using precision 3D printing.
Each unit is finished in premium real leather for a more refined and durable
contact surface while maintaining a factory-correct appearance.

OEM Reference

Discontinued Component
The original 02R NSX-R arm rest is no longer available through normal OEM
production, leaving owners with limited options when restoring or replacing
the original component.
Single-Door Configuration
The original design incorporates a single-door storage compartment.
MITA preserves this configuration to maintain the character and functionality
of the original NSX-R interior.

MITA Restoration Standard

Reverse Engineered Geometry
The original component was reverse engineered and recreated using
CAD-driven development to accurately reproduce the factory geometry,
proportions, and mounting locations.
Precision 3D Manufacturing
The arm rest is remanufactured through precision 3D printing,
allowing the discontinued component to be reproduced with controlled
dimensional accuracy.
Premium Real Leather
Each arm rest is trimmed in genuine leather in place of the original
synthetic covering, providing a smoother, more durable contact surface
with an elevated tactile feel.
Factory-Correct Appearance
The exterior maintains the understated appearance and proportions
of the original 02R NSX-R arm rest while introducing a more premium
leather finish.

Global Configuration

Integrated mounting provisions are incorporated into the arm rest
to accommodate the original installation requirements.

Included magnets allow the arm rest to be configured for either
right-hand-drive or left-hand-drive applications.

The original single-door compartment design is retained,
preserving the function and visual character of the 02R NSX-R interior.

Construction & Finish

The MITA 02R NSX-R Arm Rest combines reverse-engineered geometry with
modern precision manufacturing and premium material finishing. The
underlying structure is reproduced through precision 3D printing,
while the contact surface is trimmed in genuine leather for improved
durability, tactile quality, and long-term usability. The result is
