NSX Air Conditioning Vent Trim

Abstract

A precision replacement for the original Honda NSX air conditioning
vent trim, designed to restore one of the most visible components of
the NSX interior. Manufactured using a precision vacuum-casting process
and finished in either NH1L Black or YR247L Bright Brown, the MITA vent
trim is designed to integrate seamlessly with the factory air duct
assembly. Available for both Left Hand Drive and Right Hand Drive
1991–2005 NSX models, it can also be paired with the MITA Center Console
for a fully coordinated interior finish.

Factory Integration

Direct Replacement
Designed as a replacement for the original NSX air conditioning
vent trim while retaining compatibility with the factory air
duct assembly.
Factory Duct Integration
The original air duct is transferred to the MITA replacement trim,
preserving the factory ducting and allowing the original assembly
to remain in service.
Optional Foam Replacement
During installation, the surrounding foam may be replaced if
necessary to restore an optimal seal and help maintain proper
air conditioning flow.

MITA Manufacturing Standard

Precision Vacuum Casting
The vent trim is manufactured using vacuum casting, a process
that uses a precision silicone mold and vacuum-assisted resin
casting to produce consistent, detailed components. By removing
trapped air during the casting process, the method helps achieve
clean surfaces, accurate reproduction of the mold geometry, and
production-quality results without the need for traditional hard tooling.
Controlled Surface Reproduction
Vacuum casting allows the original design and surface characteristics
of the component to be reproduced consistently across each production
piece, providing the dimensional control required for interior fitment.
Automotive-Grade Finish
Each cast component is prepared and painted to achieve the correct
finished appearance before installation into the vehicle.
Factory-Matched Color Options
Available in NH1L Black or YR247L Bright Brown to coordinate directly
with the MITA Center Console and create a cohesive interior.

NH1L Black

A factory-inspired black finish designed to integrate naturally
with the original NSX interior.

YR247L Bright Brown

A factory-inspired bright brown finish designed to complement
the corresponding NSX interior trim.

Matched Interior

Pair with the corresponding MITA Center Console finish for
a consistent and cohesive interior throughout the vehicle.

Installation Protocol

Remove the air duct vent from the original assembly by locating
and removing the four screws securing the duct to the factory
vent trim.

Using a non-marring prying tool, gently release the retaining
tabs and separate the air duct from the original trim.

Transfer the air duct to the MITA vent trim. If the original
foam surround is deteriorated, replacement is recommended to
help maintain a proper seal and optimal air flow.

Reinstall the four screws and secure the duct to the MITA trim.
Confirm that all retaining tabs are fully seated before
reinstalling the assembly into the vehicle.

Vehicle Compatibility

Designed for first-generation Honda NSX models produced from 1991 through
2005. The MITA Air Conditioning Vent Trim is available for both Left Hand
Drive and Right Hand Drive configurations, providing a direct replacement
solution across the global NSX platform.
